North Korea threatens to attack united stete off amrica

"The further Ulchi Freedom Guardian joint military exercises are intensified, the strongest military counteraction the (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) will take to cope with them," a spokesman for North Korea's National Defense Commission (NDC) said Saturday. A State Department official told  allnewses24
on Saturday it was aware of the threats. The exercises are transparent, defense-minded and are designed to increase the readiness of South Korea and the region, the State Department official said. "These exercises are a clear demonstration of the U.S.

commitment to the alliance," the official said. While threatening military action is nothing new for the regime (Kim Jong Un told his troops they should be ready to fight a "sacred war" in the days leading up to the exercises in 2012, for example), the rhetoric coming out of Pyongang seems particularly ratcheted-up this time around.

"The army and people of the DPRK are no longer what they used to be in the past when they had to counter the U.S. nukes with rifles," the NDC spokesman continued, saying North Korea "is the invincible power equipped with both [the] latest offensive and defensive means unknown to the world..." In fact, this year, they are threatening to attack the U.S. on its own soil. "If [the] United States wants their mainland to be safe,"

said a newswoman for the state TV station, KCNA, "then the Ulchi Freedom Guardian should stop immediately." North Korea not interested in Iran-style nuclear talks A former Army general who participated in previous Ulchi exercises said it's nothing more than the bluster of young tyrant who perhaps feels marginalized by more serious foes. "One of the key propaganda goals of the young leader is to just get on the radar of the U.S.," said retired Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling, now a national security analyst for  allnewses24 . "With all the other things we're focused on -- ISIS, al Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, Russia and Ukraine, etc., Kim Jong Un wants to ensure he grabs attention." India and Pakistan celebrate Independence Today

India and Pakistan have celebrated their 69th Independence Day with much fanfare. The end of the British colonial rule in 1947 marked the creation of two independent states - Hindu-majority India and Muslim-majority Pakistan. Independence Day is celebrated widely in both the countries, with flags from the respective countries hoisted in schools and colleges, and at government buildings and major landmarks. India and Pakistan celebrate Independence Today

Why Hillary Clinton's Ideas Are So Similar to barak Obama's

Hillary Clinton's position on a key issue, often there's an easy way to know: it's usually the same as President Barack Obama's. From community college (make it free) to ending the U.S. embargo with Cuba (a good idea) to going around Republicans in Congress and using executive power to change U.S. policy on immigration (yes) to creating a Medicare-for-all style health system (no) to raising the minimum wage (yes, but not to $15 an hour),

Clinton's stances have closely mirrored those of Obama. The president refuses to say if he supports the creation of the Keystone XL pipeline and vetoed a bill authorizing it earlier this year because he said he wanted to wait until the end of a review by the State Department. Clinton won't take a position either.  a sweeping multinational trade deal which most congressional Democrats and the party's other presidential candidates oppose. Clinton has so far not taken a firm position on it. It's not surprising that two Democrats agree on many issues, but the overlap between the pair is striking. The similarity likely illustrates an awareness from Clinton that distancing herself from Obama would not help her in the Democrat primary. It also reflects the deep connections between Obama's team and Clinton's.

"President Obama and Secretary Clinton have shared the experience of governing. They both know that for policy platforms to be implemented, they have to work their way through Washington's governing process. Neither can afford simply to pander," said Ari Ratner, who worked on Obama's 2008 campaign and then served as a policy advisor in the State Department under Clinton. Many of Clinton's top advisers were deeply involved in some of Obama's top policy achievements. Clinton policy adviser Neera Tanden and Clinton director of state campaigns and political engagement Marlon Marshall were a part of the conception and implementation of Obamacare.

US and Cuba spar over human rights after flag ceremony

US Secretary of State John Kerry declared a new era in relations with Cuba as the Stars and Stripes flag was raised on the island, but stark differences remain between the two countries over issues such as democracy and human rights. Kerry led a ceremony to raise the US flag over the newly reopened American embassy on Friday, becoming the first US top diplomat to visit Cuba in 70 years.. "We remain convinced the people of Cuba would be best served by a genuine democracy, where people are free to choose their leaders,"
